THE EVENT DOES NOT TAKE PLACE AT THE MUSEUM... IT IS CO-PRESENTED BY THE MUSEM... THE FESTIVAL TAKES PLACE IN THE VENICE PAVILION at Venice Recreation Center [between the beach and the boardwalk]. 1 Windward Ave - Venice, CA 90291
This is the Five-Year Anniversary of L.A.'s ONLY Alternative [Gen-Next] Jazz Fest with Two Live Music stages, a DJ-driven Roller Disco, Vendor Village, International Food and BEverage Offerings, an Adult Beverage Garden, Vinyl Pop-Up and more. The event is unique as it is the first beachfront Jazz Festival in Los Angeles, the First Jazz Festival in Venice History, it is co-presented by the Venice Heritage Foundation / Museum, it is named after the AZZ IZZ Jazz Club, Cultural Center and Teahouse... the furthest west outpost of the mid-centuray Black Arts Movement, the club ran throughout the 1970s on the street that is now known as Abbot Kinney Blvd.
We dedicate the event to the spirit of that club's proprieter, the maestro saxophonist, Billie Harris.
