Jared Farmer is a professor of history at Stony Brook University and the author of Trees in Paradise: A California History.

David Melville is an experienced, all-around theater professional. Trained at London's Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, David has appeared in London, Moscow, and New York. He met his wife while both were in a Broadway production of "Hamlet" with Ralph Fiennes and they co-founded the Independent Shakespeare Co. (ISC) in 1998. ISC began in New York, has toured Europe, and has settled in Los Angeles bringing free, quality classical theater for ten years with Shakespeare in the Park and newer, nuanced productions through the Independent Studio.

Evelyn McDonnell is the author and co-editor of five books, including "Mamarama: A Memoir of Sex, Kids and Rock "?n' Roll." She has worked as a pop music critic for the Miami Herald and as senior editor for the Village Voice. She's won several awards including an Annenberg Fellowship at USC and first place for enterprise by the South Florida Black Journalists Association. She is currently a journalism professor at Loyola Marymount University and lives in Los Angeles, CA.

Clément is a Master's Program student in Urban Planning and Political Sciences at Sciences Po Lyon, France. He is currently in Los Angeles working on his thesis.

Jon Klusmire was a journalist and writer covering Colorado's Western Slope for about 20 years before moving to Bishop, CA, where he wrote for the Inyo Register before taking his current job as the Director of the Eastern California Museum, in Independence.

Todd Pate is a writer, actor, musician, carpenter, cowboy and whatever else he has to do to pay the bills. A traveler who uses New York City as his base, he's wandered across America several times. His non-fiction novel about a recent bus trip through the country - Here, In America - is due out next year. He writes a weekly blog called El Jamberoo, Adventures in Americaland -- commenting about whoever he's with and wherever he's at at the time.

Rachel Samuels has directed three feature films (most recently "Dark Streets," a film noir musical released by Samuel Goldwyn Films), directed and produced television documentaries for MTV Networks, and edited social justice documentaries for nonprofits including the Clinton Global Initiative, ONE, and George Soros' Open Society Foundations. She studied social theory at Harvard University.

Sarah Jesse is LACMA's Associate Vice President of Education. Prior she was the Director of Education and Public Programs at the Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Assistant Director of Public Programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Illinois.
