Rosalio Muñoz, a Highland Park native, is a Chicano rights activist who acted as co-chair during the Los Angeles Chicano Moratorium in 1970. At age 17, following a year abroad in Mexico, Rosalio established his identity as Chicano and returned to Benjamin Franklin High School proud and politicized. That same year he became the first Latino school class president at Franklin, which began his career in leadership and political activism.

Charles Donelan has lived in Santa Barbara since 2001. He writes about visual art, music, theater, and books for the Santa Barbara Independent, where he is the arts editor. Prior to his arrival in Santa Barbara, Donelan lived in New York City, where he earned his Ph. D. in English at Columbia University while pursuing his lively interest in New York's wide variety of cultural offerings, from the Metropolitan Opera and the Museum of Modern Art to the Mudd Club. Donelan has at various times been employed as an elevator operator at the nightclub Danceteria, a visiting professor of Literature at Tufts University, the Director of New Media at the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, and an exercise rider for polo ponies in Millbrook, New York. He enjoys Santa Barbara's extravagant ratio of cultural opportunities to minutes in the day, and looks forward to helping artbound become a leading source for great stories about the arts in Southern California.

Rujeko Hockley is a San Diego-based writer, curator, and student. She received her B.A. in Art History from Columbia University in 2005. Since 2009, she has been pursuing her Ph.D. in Art History, Theory and Criticism at the University of California, San Diego where she specializes in modern and contemporary American art, with a particular focus on neo-avantgarde practices, social movements, the African diaspora, and critical race art history. Hockley recently co-produced an exhibition catalogue on artist Mike Calway-Fagen with the artist, and is a frequent contributor to STUDIO, the magazine of The Studio Museum in Harlem, among other publications.

Born and raised on Cape Cod, Ethan Stewart has been calling Santa Barbara home off and on since that great El Nino winter of 1998. On his way to writing the news for The Independent, Stewart has worked as a bellhop, a carpenter, a surf shop lackey, an overnight security guard on a sprawling Gaviota ranch, a delivery truck driver, a school teacher, and a landscaper. A passionate explorer of Mother Nature's more open and wild places, Stewart reckons Boston Red Sox baseball is the closest thing he has to religion, considers the ocean to be a mandatory daily activity, has been sleeping with sand in his bed for as long as he can remember, has a dog named Danger and a wife from Montana named Anna.

I'm Cahuilla/Cupeno Indian and live on the Pala Indian Reservation. Good or bad, I've had a desultory approach to education. I studied philosophy, literature and film at UC Santa Cruz, journalism at UC Berkeley, communications at UC San Diego. I studied creative writing at Vermont College and got a master of fine arts in creative writing from Antioch University in Los Angeles.

Architect, author, architectural historian and photographer, Patrick McGrew received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1965. He has been actively engaged in the architectural profession, specializing in historic preservation, since then. McGrew has been a licensed architect in the State of California since 1970, as well as a holder of the NCARB (national licensing) certificate. As an author and historian, McGrew places a high value on the objectivity and completeness of his written works. He has several years' experience in research, writing, practicing and teaching architecture with academic and historical agencies and institutions. He has made a substantial contribution to the recorded knowledge of California architectural history through research and publication of a body of scholarly work in the field. His experience has included the preparation of numerous historic research reports, National Register nominations, and San Francisco and Palm Springs historic site nominations, as well as the preparation of plans and specifications for architectural preservation projects.

Kinsee Morlan has been covering arts and culture in San Diego and Tijuana for over a decade. She's currently the engagement editor and author of the Culture Report at Voice of San Diego. Morlan's got two young, beautiful boys and a bearded, craft-beer-loving husband. She lives in Lemon Grove, a quirky suburb of San Diego.

Ruth Nolan, a former wildland firefighter for the BLM-California Desert District and U.S. Forest Service, is a prolific California desert writer and scholar who grew up in the Mojave Desert and now lives in the Coachella Valley, where she is professor of English, creative writing and Native American literature at College of the Desert.
