Patssi Valdez and the Power of Chicana Art in Protest and Performance
Patssi Valdez, an American Chicana artist raised in East Los Angeles, drew inspiration from the activism in her community to pursue art. Along with three peers, she co-founded Asco, a Chicano performance art group formed in response to racial discrimination that was occuring in her neighborhood.
