Agua Por Vida: Sleepy Lagoon Mural Project highlights a former river gathering place for Mexican American communities during segregation. East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, in partnership with East Side of The River, the City of Maywood and Tongva community members, installed two large murals honoring those affected by the 1942 Sleepy Lagoon incident and the Zoot Suit Riots.
