Hank Hendry’s great-great grandfather, Capt. Francis Hendry, was one of Fort Myers’ first settlers. The cattle rancher served in the Civil War cavalry and state legislature, among many other community involvements. Hendry county was created in 1923 and is called home to residents of Labelle and Clewiston.
