Fashion industry attempts to preserve artisan craftwork
In the 1980s, about 70 percent of clothes sold in the U.S. were made in the country. Today, it’s down to just three percent. One of the casualties is traditional craftwork like weaving fabric, cutting leather and polishing gemstones. The fashion industry is now trying to preserve these crafts.
