Drug makers agree to curb antibiotic use for farm animals
Scientists point to the amount of antibiotics in livestock as one of the causes of the rise of antibiotic resistant diseases. On Wednesday a number of pharmaceutical companies agreed to abide by a government proposal to stop labeling drugs important for treating human infections as acceptable antibiotics to spur farm animal growth.
