Robust hiring raises prospects for more interest rate hikes

The U.S. economy created 311,000 jobs in February, more than expected, as the unemployment rate rose to 3.6 percent. But that came as the labor force participation rate improved and more than 400,000 workers jumped back into the workforce, something noted by President Biden Friday after the report was released.
