Trump's cuts 'undermine' education, former secretary says
President Trump has said he wants to eliminate the Department of Education. Tuesday, his administration slashed 50 percent of its workforce. It’s an enormous reduction for the agency that’s currently responsible for managing $1.5 trillion in college loans, guidance on civil rights laws and funding for low-income schools.
