Protecting ancient treasures in Mideast war zones
Northern Iraq boasts thousands of archaeological sites dating to the beginning of civilization, and they are being destroyed by the Islamic State militants. Meanwhile, more than 3 years of civil war in Syria has laid waste to much of the country's ancient history.
