Trump kicks off Asia trip amid progress on China trade deal

On the first day of his Asia trip, Trump sought to shift attention from controversies at home to deals struck with allies in the region. Treasury Secretary Bessent said the administration is closing in on a trade deal with China ahead of Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi on Thursday.
