With peace on the horizon, Colombia’s president asks for aid

As the more than 50-year conflict between the Colombian government and FARC guerillas nears a possible resolution, President Juan Manuel Santos visited the White House Thursday to ask President Obama for new foreign aid funds to expand health and education services into formerly rebel-controlled areas.
