The first clip associated with the "In the Realms of the Unreal": The Artist and Society lesson plan shows how in 1909, Henry Darger started illustrating his fantasy world using techniques he devised through trial and error. Students should discuss why an artist might borrow an image from an existing picture, illustration or photo.
