Reporter Roundup: Is the Coronavirus in L.A. Sewage?

Season 1 Episode 143

On the May 15 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss the restaurant industry, studying sewage for the coronavirus and the disease impacts demographic groups differently.

Reporter Natalie Chudnovsky spent some time with folks employed in Los Angeles’ restaurant industry and found some businesses are in distress.

KPCC’s Sharon McNary reports scientists think that if they test raw sewage samples they collect at the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant in El Segundo, it could help them understand when the amount of coronavirus in the population is declining from our current level.

COVID-19 impacts different demographics differently and reporter Josie Huang reports on it can be hard to explain why.
