Reporter Roundup: L.A. IG to Look at Nursing Homes

Season 1 Episode 151

On the May 26 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters discuss what L.A.’s new Inspector General will be investigating, how COVID-19 is changing the birthing process and concerns with corporate landlords.

KPCC’s Jackie Fortier reports on a decision by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to investigate the county’s nursing homes. A high number of coronavirus related deaths have occurred inside the care facilities.

Aaron Mendelson reports that California politicians are concerned about the role corporate landlords could play during the economic recovery.

Many hospitals are limiting delivery rooms to one support person. It’s just one example of how the coronavirus is changing the labor and delivery process reports Marina Dale.
