California Coastal Trail

Point Buchon Trail: The Gateway to a Secluded Coastline

This three-mile long section of the California Coastal Trail in San Luis Obispo County has only been open to the public since 2007. Since then, the pristine coastal area that the trail meanders through, which is owned by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, receives nearly 20,000 hikers per year. The Point Buchon Trail features seasonal wildflowers, coastal caves, and wind-swept bluffs.
