Even before the U.S. moved on Friday to sever normal trade with Russia, sanctions were far-reaching, and the ruble's value has plunged as a result. One estimate suggested the Russian economy may fall so steeply it will wipe out growth from the last two decades, as more companies walk away from doing business there.
