Chicago Fed president on the economy's mixed signals
Inflation is showing fresh signs of cooling, ticking up 2.7% year-over-year, lower than many economists had expected. It follows the release of a delayed jobs report that showed weak growth and the highest unemployment rate in four years. The numbers could bolster the case for more interest rate cuts in 2026.
