A Different Kind of City Living

Communes were popular in the 60’s, but most of them failed.  Not so with the Eco-Village, an apartment building tucked in the middle of one of L.A.'s densest neighborhoods. About forty people live in this “intentional community” in Koreatown. They are committed to sustainability, affordability, social justice and respect for each other and nature. But what is it like to live here? Reporter Dija Dowling takes a tour of the Eco-Village led by 80-year-old, Lois Arkin, whose vision 23 years ago made the Eco-Village a model of cooperative living.
