Amputees Make War Training Realistic for Service Men and Women

Anyone who's ever been in combat knows it's impossible to describe the horrors of a bloody battlefield. So how do you train soldiers who need to see exactly what they're going to face before they see it? One facility in San Diego takes a very unconventional approach to military training, using actors who are also amputees. CNN correspondent Poppy Harlow got a chance to participate in that graphic training for a story (but fair warning, the images are very graphic):

Though all parties involved know it's all makeup and acting, Poppy found that the people who have lost limbs not only provided an added a level of vivid realism that was invaluable to those being trained, but that the amputees themselves found purpose and healing in the process. Harlow joined Val in the studio to talk about the experience.
