More on Amy Wilentz's Book

It's been just over three years since a massive earthquake struck Haiti, flattening much of the capital Port-au-Prince and killing tens of thousands of people.

At the time, there was an unprecedented outpouring of money -- billions of dollars to help rebuild. Aid workers poured in from across the globe. So what does Haiti look like now? Longtime Haiti observer Amy Wilentz has written "Farewell, Fred Voodoo: A Letter from Haiti," a personal meditation about why Haiti exerts such a powerful pull on us.
