Unsealed Bodycam Footage Shows Violent L.A. County Cell Extraction

L.A. County fought to keep these videos, recorded on August 25, 2008, sealed and out of the public eye. They show L.A. County Sheriff's Deputies forcibly removing 20 inmates from their cells. They're using a risky and aggressive tactic called cell extraction, which has resulted in deaths in other states. The inmates were protesting violence in the jail and refused to leave their cells. Some of the inmates smashed their sinks and flooded their cells. They also threw broken porcelain at deputies.Tactical teams used less-than-lethal weapons such as multi-launchers, tasers, stingball grenades and pepper spray to force inmates out.
