California Coastal Trail
The Ancient Coast of Wilder Ranch State Park
Season 1
Episode 33
Once upon a time, Wilder Ranch State Park was a dairy known for its delicious butter. Today, it’s 7,000 acres of protected land where you can step back in time to the late 1800s and explore California’s early ranching history. Some 35 miles of trails and paths wind up into the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains and along coastal terraces that have remained unchanged for thousands of years. Breathtaking views of sea caves, tide pools, and coastal bluffs are only just a few of the highlights of this extraordinary segment of the California Coastal Trail.
