How SNPLMA Wove Urban Las Vegas Back Into the Environment

The Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act (SNPLMA) helped balance urban growth in Las Vegas with conservation and restoration throughout the state. Championed by Sen. Harry Reid, the legislation established public land auctions that generated revenue for a variety of programs, including the construction of parks, trails and visitor centers to expand access to the outdoors.
