SoCal Connected: Three New Environmental Specials Premiering July 11

“Balancing Act” Tues., July 11 at 8 p.m. PT
This episode visits the increasingly popular Joshua Tree National Park where park officials struggle to balance the needs of nature and humans, as well as reports on saving endangered plants and natural living in the city.  

“On the Cutting Edge” Tues., July 18 at 8 p.m. PT
A look into cutting edge environmental practices at a farm where soil is king and a visit to an incubator for green business entrepreneurs. Then, in a segment from filmmaker/actor Raphael Sbarge (Once Upon a Time, Murder in the First), climate scientist Dr. Jess Adkins from the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering at Caltech reveals what other climatologists are thinking, and offers up inspiring advice on the things that can be done to help. 

“Environmental Justice” Tues., July 25 at 8 p.m. PT
Exploring environmental justice with a dive into lead-contaminated communities, the effects of the Chiquita Canyon Landfill and an interview with an African-American environmental leader.
