Driving While Distracted
SoCal Connected investigates, in partnership with Car & Driver Magazine, the latest danger on the road, texting while driving. In a series of real-time road tests, we demonstrate what happens when you text and drive, a practice so dangerous that 14 states have already outlawed it. SoCal Connected also looks at other driver distractions, including the latest "hands-free" technology, which may not be as safe as is commonly advertised. And humorist Brian Unger remembers when we used to do our best thinking when we were alone and quiet. Now, he notes, we have turned into a society that does our best texting while driving.
